Extension Request Form

Extension requests are reviewed and approved or denied at UC Scout's discretion. If approved, students will have 3 additional weeks beyond the original course end date to complete and submit any assignments marked “Missing” in the online classroom. All coursework must be completed by the extended deadline. No refunds are issued for courses not completed by the end of the extension.


To be eligible for an extension, students must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Petition must be supported by special circumstances such as a *personal illness, injury, or hospitalization. 
  • Short-term illnesses (e.g., colds, flu, or non-hospitalized COVID-19) do not qualify for an extension.

  • Official documentation (e.g., a doctor’s note) is required and must be dated within the current term. Documents from prior terms will not be considered.

  • Students must have completed the midterm exam.

  • Extension requests must be submitted no later than the term end date.

UC Scout will notify students of the decision within one week of submission. Please note that submitting a petition does not guarantee approval.









If "NO" is selected, you are ineligible to petition for an extension.  The UC Scout Extension policy states that a student must have progressed through the course (midterm) at least 3 weeks before the course end date. Since you did not complete the midterm before then you are ineligible to petition for an extension. No exceptions are granted outside of the UC Scout Extension policy. We recommend for those that are ineligible request to transfer to the new term for a fee as outlined on the UC Scout policies page, https://www.ucscout.org/uc-scout-policies/

Failure to include a link to your midterm exam will result in an automatic denial of your extension request.
